Drawing Mickey with a Mouse
in MS Paint
Bitmap Painting with MS Paint is the simplest computer art. Every Windows computer has a copy of the Bitmap Painting application called Microsoft Paint or MS Paint. The application in Windows XP works a little differently than the current application in Windows 7 through Windows 10 that is demonstrated below.
Paint (formerly Paintbrush), commonly known as Microsoft Paint, is a simple raster graphics editor that has been included with all versions of Microsoft Windows. The app opens and saves files in Windows bitmap (BMP), JPEG, GIF, PNG, and single-page TIFF formats. The app can be in color mode or two-color black-and-white, but there is no grayscale mode. For its simplicity, it rapidly became one of the most used applications in the early versions of Windows, introducing many to painting on a computer for the first time. It is still widely used for simple image manipulation tasks and raster art and graphics projects.
In computer graphics, a raster graphics or bitmap image is a dot matrix data structure, representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels, or little points of color, view-able via a monitor, paper, or other display medium. Raster images are stored and saved in image files with varying formats, such as bmp, png, jpeg, and gif.
